Objective: This study aims to evaluate the knowledge, attitudes and beliefs of physical therapists regarding nonspecific chronic low backache and explore their impact on choice of treatment, ultimately enhancing quality outcomes.
Methods: In this study, 107 individuals took part. The study consisted of 3 segements:1. Demographic Data, 2. Evaluation of participants' perspectives and convictions on pain using the Pain Attitudes and Beliefs Scale for Physical therapists(PABSPT)(1) scale, & 3. Frequently employed treatment selection and plans for managing NSCLBP. The questionnaire was distributed via email, WhatsApp, and social media platforms using Google Forms.
Results: Responses were gathered from 107 physical therapists in India through the Google form. Treatment orientation revealed 43.4% biomedical and 30.7% bio-psychosocial approaches.
Conclusions: The predominant orientation of physical therapists in India leans towards biomedical aspects in their attitudes and beliefs.
